Today, leaders of conservative organizations across the country formally sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader John Thune urging immediate and full consideration of the SAVE America Act (S.1383).
We appreciate Leader Thune’s public commitment to bring the SAVE America Act to the Senate floor and his co-sponsorship of the bill.
The American people deserve a vote on legislation that ensures:
Only U.S. citizens can register to vote
Photo voter ID is required in federal elections
States remove noncitizens from voter rolls
These are not fringe ideas. They are commonsense safeguards that enjoy overwhelming public support.
We are urging Leader Thune to:
Use the bill’s privileged status to bring it immediately to the floor
Prioritize it ahead of less urgent Washington measures
Enforce Senate rules to require real debate- a talking filibuster
Guide the SAVE America Act to a majority vote
Send the bill to President Trump for signature before the Easter recess
