Texas Coalition Leader Praises Model Election Laws Handbook

The Election Integrity Network (EIN) is taking a huge step forward in releasing the Model

Election Laws Handbook. I am very excited to use it in Texas! Our legislative session begins in

January 2027, so this is the perfect time to use it to create the legislation we will promote next

year.

I have been a part of EIN since the summer of 2023 when I was just a participant in the Texas

Election Coalition calls. Later I was asked to join the Coalition’s Cabinet and eventually was

honored with the position of Director of the Texas Election Coalition.

I had been in election integrity since 2015 and was making progress but I needed help. 2020

brought a lot of attention to election integrity, but also a lot of grifters. Some of them became

noise that drowned out those of us who had been re-building our elections for years. They were

too focused on making everything happen immediately through fear and force. In the long run,

those tactics do not work.

Working with the Election Integrity Network has been a breath of fresh air. While some other

groups tear each other down to make themselves look better, EIN is focused on raising all of us

up. We are all in this together. They don’t dictate, they offer assistance. They don’t speculate,

they educate. They know that we must win the hearts and minds of the people as well as the

legislators through education, not force.

EIN has made a few transitions through the years, each one being a step in the right direction.

Each change has been carefully and thoughtfully made. The release of the Model Election Laws

Handbook is no exception. EIN’s leaders reached out to each of the state coalitions, learning

about our victories and challenges. They asked for our feedback and truly listened. EIN has

always been solutions-based and they clearly wanted a document we could all use to make those

solutions a reality.

With EIN's help, the Texas Election Coalition has grown not just in size, but in influence. Our

members used messaging strategies learned through EIN to urge the Governor to add the repeal

of a bill that would have opened the door to same-day registration to a special session. The law

was successfully overturned and we kept that door closed and locked.

EIN gives our Coalition members credibility. It adds gravitas to our messaging. We are

incredibly grateful to be a part of this amazing organization. I have met so many wonderful

people from all over this great nation, all working to secure our elections. Sometimes they give

me insights into what to do next and other times I can show how Texas is leading the way. It is

truly a team. Together we focus on real issues and real solutions. We learn from each other when

strategies succeed or fail.

Visit Election Integrity Network’s website, find your state coalition, and get plugged in! If your

state doesn’t have a coalition, you need to start one. EIN seeks the real answers from the bottom

up, filtered through years of experience in election integrity.
